God is literally the universal constant.  He is the same today as He always has been and as He always will be.  The immutable nature of God is an essential principle of who God is and how we interact with Him.

When Jesus says “I am the truth” His is not only asserting that He is not a liar, but that He is the very embodiment of what is fundamentally honest and real.

Purpose.  Meaning.  Value.  Worth.  We all crave these things and our search for them takes us down many different paths.  Some provide a little assistance, others leave us worse off than we began, but God is our ultimate source of all of these things.

Perhaps the most well-known and often repeated of all the “God is…” statements in the Bible, but we often attempt to apply our understanding of what love is to God’s nature, rather than applying God’s nature to our understanding of what love is.

We often feel like justice is somehow contradictory to love, particularly when we are on the wrong side of it (even rightly so).   But in reality, love necessitates justice, which is why what both are deeply rooted in God’s character.

We all want to feel like we can make a difference.  That what we do actually matters.  God gives our lives both purpose and meaning in this life, and a promise for the life to come.

The angels promised Jesus’ arrival would bring peace on earth, but 2000 years later some of us may be wondering when that peace will actually arrive.  Perhaps we’re looking for the wrong thing.
