Christians today still struggle to balance a seemingly unresponsive God with the overwhelming storms of life. At the end of the story the disciples were terrified for a very different reason.

Would this question help us recognized the wrong headed ideas we have about who God is and how he works? What core values is Jesus challenging by asking this question of the Teachers of the Law? How does it challenge our values?

Jesus had a unique way of turning comments into questions that probed deeply into the facades of manmade religion. What does ‘good’ look like through the eyes of the Messiah?

The question seems to make no sense whatsoever, until we learn more about the man Jesus asks it to.

Jesus challenges us to consider if our words and actions line up with one another.

Jesus calls us to reflect on what we focus in the heart of the storm.

This question is exceptional in that it is asked of God, but Jesus asked it for our benefit.

The combined gospels record seven sayings of Jesus from the cross but Peter remembers only one. Without the resurrection we would all be ‘forsaken’ of God’s love.

Where will you walk: in the light or in the darkness?  In the light there is fellowship, purification, truth, forgiveness and love.  In the darkness there is lies, deception and death.
